These conferences, which are being held in each of the 51 Schools' Enterprise Education Network (SEEN) areas between June and July 2007, are part of the Government's strategy to further promote and embed enterprise education in schools. New funding of £60 million a year from September 2005 is supporting a new focus on enterprise education in English secondary schools and special schools. Following the Budget announcement this funding has been extended and will run until 2010-11.
The Schools' Enterprise Education Network (SEEN) was launched in May 2006 to create an all-school network of specialist enterprise schools, special schools and academies to form a network of 51 enterprise hubs supported by over 200 enterprise spoke schools. The purpose of the network is to ensure all secondary schools and special schools in England are supported to be able to offer enterprise CPD to all their staff of the highest quality, and to enable those schools to respond to national guidance and policy, supporting all schools to embed an enterprise culture.
The main aims of the conferences are to:

Who should attend?
A key audience for the conferences are head teachers and members of the senior management team in secondary schools and special schools that are not Enterprise hub or spoke schools, or specialist business and enterprise colleges. However, the conferences are also aimed at all Work Related Learning and Enterprise Education Co-ordinators in schools that have developed enterprise practice. It is the major opportunity for enterprise hub and spoke schools to disseminate their CPD activities, resources and support programmes. >
