The Health and Europe Centre EventEmpowering disabilities.
We were thrilled to be involved in a recent event in Ghent hosted by the Health and Europe Centre. Not least because it built on our experience of working on projects promoting dignity-focused approaches to care but also because its agenda was based around the greater empowerment of disabled people.
The event was devised to promote the work of a ground-breaking EU-funded project which gives a voice to users of assistive technology and offers them the opportunity to influence both the hardware being developed and the way it interacts with the ‘software’ of the families and professionals.
Our varied role included setting up a website in three languages (English, French and Dutch), pre-event and onsite delegate management services, PowerPoint design and support and the provision of our mobile app in three languages as a feedback mechanism for use on delegates’ own devices.
This was a project which the team found very rewarding, a sentiment clearly echoed by the client.
“I just wanted to thank you, on behalf of the Health and Europe Centre and all the partners in this project, for your outstanding help and support over the last couple of months. You have been unfailingly helpful, positive and proactive, and enabled us to provide a successful conference against all the odds.
This conference was a key part of this phase of the project and because it was so successful, we are much more likely to be able to go on to phase 2, largely thanks to your professionalism and support. It has been a pleasure working with you and I hope we have the opportunity to do so again in the future”.Janet Merza, Business Development Assistant, The Health and Europe Centre
