The Live Group today is the result of three generations of visionary entrepreneurs. Jonathan Lewis formed Live Group in 1975, taking forward the values and skills enshrined in his parents' own communications work. Having started out in exhibition services, Jonathan led the company’s evolution into one of the leading full service live events agencies in the UK. That was before Jonathan’s son, Toby, brought Live Group to the centre of the digital and hybrid event solutions arena, where our events are described as 'the best' people have ever attended.
This is because for the past four decades every time we've seen some way to improve or to innovate, that's what we've done. When we saw jet-lagged managers trying to reach scattered audiences on limited budgets, delegates arriving at a venue disorientated and ill-prepared, speakers lagging behind mystifying slideshows and crucial votes taken on a random show of hands we devised new technologies which ended these limitations for good. We held conferences and masterclasses to instruct our clients in the potential of technology for captivating thousands of delegates, wherever they were, and of keeping them captivated long after they had left a venue. And since introducing our own in-house audience engagement system on wireless touch-screen tablets a decade ago, we have gone on to become an award winning digital events agency.
We've developed our own suite of integrated technologies to create an unparalleled level of delegate involvement which begins at first invitation and only ends when the final presentation has been downloaded or online vote cast. This innovative approach has helped us attract a client list which has included every government department, scores of arm’s length bodies, FTSE top 100 companies, charities, institutions, membership organisations, educational bodies, healthcare organisations, even a music academy!
Our solutions and team triumphed at the 2013 and 2014 Event Technology Awards, winning five coveted accolades including the 2013 overall Grand Prix Award for “truly outstanding levels of achievement in the field of event technology” and the Best B2B mobile app award 2014. Other major wins include two EVCOM Clarion awards and the 2014 EIBTM Technology Watch award, beating 48 other international entrants to the most high profile and longest running recognition scheme for innovation in the meetings industry worldwide. More recently in recognition of his innovative approach and knowledge of location based technology, Toby was appointed Chair of the Global Beacon Alliance: an association that aims to provide independent information and help on creating standardization and best practices, and to provide a forum for app providers, venues and event planners.
Our success is born out of this drive to innovate which began 40 years ago and which still remains our passion to this day.
